About the Muslim Industrialists Association (MIA)

Empowering Entrepreneurs, Uplifting Communities

The Muslim Industrialists Association (MIA) was established in 2004 by a group of successful industrialists and business leaders from the Peenya Industrial Area, Bangalore. Founded with a vision to uplift the community through business and education, MIA has evolved into a registered society under the Indian Societies Act in 2007. It has since become a significant driving force behind the development of entrepreneurship and educational empowerment within the minority communities of India.

Our Mission

To foster economic development by nurturing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), empowering entrepreneurs, and facilitating access to education for underserved communities.

Our Objectives

Entrepreneurial Development: We focus on equipping entrepreneurs with the knowledge, resources, and networking opportunities necessary to grow their businesses. From startups to established enterprises, MIA supports entrepreneurs through collaboration, business facilitation, and mentorship.

Educational Support: MIA is deeply committed to improving the quality of education for underprivileged students. By adopting government schools, providing scholarships, and offering critical resources such as books, uniforms, and teaching aids, we aim to bridge the educational gap and help students excel.

Our Focus Areas:

MIA operates through two primary focus areas that drive its activities:

  • Entrepreneurship: By providing vital business knowledge and facilitating networking, MIA helps entrepreneurs understand the procedural requirements for starting and running a successful business. Our network encourages collaboration, helping members generate business and share resources.
  • Education: MIA supports education by addressing the challenges faced by under-resourced schools. We work directly with government schools, deputing private teachers where needed, and providing essential materials to enhance the learning experience. We also award scholarships to deserving students pursuing professional degrees.

Why MIA?

  • Networking & Growth: MIA provides a platform for its members to network, collaborate, and generate business opportunities.
  • Community Impact: We focus on raising the socio-economic standards of the community by driving educational initiatives and entrepreneurial growth.
  • Access to Resources: Through partnerships and collaborations, MIA provides its members with access to business insights, mentorship, and industry knowledge.
  • Women Empowerment: Through our dedicated Association of Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), MIA supports and encourages women to pursue entrepreneurship and personal growth.

A Trusted Partner in Social and Economic Development:

MIA has received recognition for its efforts, and our donors can benefit from tax exemptions under Section 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act, making contributions both impactful and rewarding.

  • 2004-2010: Founding and initial focus on building a robust network of industrialists and entrepreneurs.
  • 2010-2015: Expansion of educational initiatives, adopting government schools and starting scholarship programs.
